Dr. Amol Gawande serves as the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Management and Liberal Studies) at Dnyaan Prasad Global University (DPGU), Pune, and concurrently as the Director of Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School, Pune. A distinguished academician, visionary leader, and dynamic administrator, Dr. Gawande has made remarkable contributions to the field of management education and institutional development. He is certified by the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and DOEACC (CCC) and has successfully completed the Entrepreneurship Development Programme from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Under his strategic leadership, Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School has achieved the prestigious membership of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Dr. Amol Gawande holds a Ph.D. in Management, a Master of Management Studies (MMS) in Financial Management, and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree. His multifaceted career embodies a blend of scholarship, innovation, and leadership dedicated to advancing the standards of higher education and management studies in India.

An accomplished researcher and prolific author, Dr. Gawande has filed nine patents, of which three have been granted. His academic contributions include two textbooks, five edited volumes, twelve book chapters, seven case studies, twenty-seven journal papers, eleven conference proceedings, seven news articles, sixteen conference presentations, and five registered copyrights. His research and thought leadership have earned him the distinction of presenting papers at internationally reputed institutions such as Harvard University and MIT, further establishing his global academic presence.

Dr. Amol Gawande has received several prestigious awards and recognitions that highlight his exceptional leadership and significant contributions to the field of education. He was honoured with the Visionary Academic Leader of the Year 2023 Award by CEGR, New Delhi, on 19th April 2023, and the National Happiness Unicorn Award by Heartfulness Organization, India, on 21st August 2022. He also received the Innovative Academic Leader of the Year 2022 Award from the Integrated Chambers of Commerce and Industry on 30th July 2022. His earlier achievements include the Best Director of the Year Award by the Center for Education Growth and Research (CEGR), New Delhi, on 18th April 2022; the Rashtriya Shiksha Gaurav Puraskar Award by CEGR, New Delhi, on 30th December 2021; and the Most Visionary and Innovative Director of the Year Award by Bizox Media Network Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, on 18th March 2021. Additionally, Dr. Gawande was honoured with the Best Director of the Year Award at the World Leadership Congress on 17th February 2021.

Dr. Gawande is deeply involved in several professional and academic organizations. He currently serves as an Executive Board Member of the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) and has previously held the position of Chairman of AIMS, Pune Chapter. He is also the Vice President of the Centre for Education, Growth and Research (CEGR), New Delhi, and an Executive Member of the Management Education & Research Consortium Global (MERC Global) as well as the International Association of Business Researchers, India. Moreover, he is a Founder Member of the International Association of Commerce and Management, India.
