Dr. Ranjit D. Patil is a distinguished academic administrator, researcher, and thought leader with over decades of experience in higher education governance, academic administration, and quality assurance. He is currently serving as the Registrar of the University, where he plays a pivotal role in institutional planning, statutory compliance, academic regulations, and the effective implementation of university policies in alignment with national regulatory frameworks. Dr. Patil holds MCS, M.Phil., NET, and Ph.D. qualifications in Computer Science. He is a recognized Ph.D. and M.Phil. Research Guide in the disciplines of Computer Applications and Statistics, and a recognized Ph.D. Co-Guide at JJTU, Rajasthan, and Shri Satya Sai University, Madhya Pradesh. Under his guidance, one research scholar has successfully completed the Ph.D. programme, while three scholars are currently pursuing doctoral research.
His scholarly contributions are substantial and diverse, comprising 18 published books, 10 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals, 6 papers presented at international conferences, and 6 papers presented at national conferences. His research and publications reflect a strong integration of academic rigor, applied computing, and contemporary pedagogical practices. In his academic leadership roles, Dr. Patil is a Member of the Board of Studies (Computer Science) and a Member under Section 48(3) of the Faculty of Science, SPPU, also served with distinction as Chairman, Board of Studies (BCA) and as a Member of the Academic Council, SPPU. He has made significant contributions to the design, restructuring, and implementation of outcome-based curricula for programmes such as B.Sc. (Computer Science), M.Sc. (Computer Science), BBA (Computer Applications), and BCA (Science), in accordance with the credit-based and choice-based credit system (CBCS).
Dr. Patil has also acted as an expert consultant for the implementation of the credit system at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at several reputed institutions. His expertise has been instrumental in aligning academic frameworks with UGC and university regulations. As an institutional leader, he has initiated and established the DPU Centre for Excellence, launching multiple industry-oriented IT programmes and competitive examination–focused certificate courses, thereby strengthening employability and skill development among students. He has served on several statutory and regulatory committees of SPPU, including the Local Inquiry Committee (LIC), Staff Selection Committee, Permanent Affiliation Committee, and Equivalence Committee, contributing to institutional evaluation, governance, and academic standards. He has also served as a Nodal Officer for the Quick Heal Foundation Program, contributing to industry–academia collaboration and student skill enhancement.
With a forward-looking vision for institutional excellence, Dr. Patil has conceptualized and implemented ERP systems and Smart Board–enabled classrooms, significantly advancing the digital transformation, transparency, and operational efficiency of academic and administrative processes. As Registrar, he continues to provide strategic leadership in strengthening governance structures, enhancing academic quality, and ensuring regulatory compliance in line with national and global best practices.
